Are schools helping or hurting
your child when it comes to bullying?
Most parents believe our schools are protecting our children from
bullies and violence. This would be great if it were true.
FACT: In 71% of cases, teachers were present but didn't intervene, and
this is Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
As a former middle school teacher, high school teacher and coach I've
seen the bullying, the teachers lose credibility, and the administration
keeps its staff in the dark. Currently, I'm a parent coach and I talk
with many parents who are given the run around from the schools.
Solutions are hard to come by, until now.

Citizenship - A group of Primary Schools in the UK and Europe, led
by St John Fisher Primary School, have been working together to create a
FREE website for Primary Schools on Citizenship since 1999. Their work
can be viewed at
www.timeforcitizenship.org
Over 3,000 schools have now registered
with us.
We are hoping to get children working together to compare aspects of
Citizenship across all the countries. We offer prizes for submissions to
the Great School Projects (schools have submitted some brilliant
projects) and the ART gallery, and we aim to give children a role in the
further advance of the website. There is a very popular Problem page -
problems are sent in by children and answered by children.
