Transatlantic Youth link on Bullying (TYLB) London UK, Dublin Ireland & Louisville USA

3-Country Video Conference

Friday 8 September 2006

This TYLB video conference was a youth led 3-site (UK, Ireland & US) video conference facilitated by representatives of the Transatlantic Schools Initiative in the UK, Ireland & US. The US site was held at the Muhammad Ali Centre and the UK & Irish sites at vidcon Centres in Central London and Dublin.

This TYLB video conference brought together young British, Irish and Americans who were interested in discussing anti bullying measures.

Attendees had been engaged in activities or the delivery of bullying prevention practice using various methods within their school environment and those who wished to learn more about the various concepts.

The video conference provided an international transatlantic platform for the exchange of skills, experience and knowledge around the implementation of anti bullying measures within a schools context and how young people themselves are leading strategic tools in the intervention and prevention of bullying.

The video conference provided young people, on both sides of the Atlantic, with a voice and the tools to openly discuss how various anti bullying measures work in their own school community and learn from their counterparts.

All participants will contribute to a paper on the effectiveness of bullying prevention strategies.

A summary report has been produced by the nominated Chair.
